Yesterday, I received my first rejection letter from a literary agent regarding The Road Ahead manuscript. I feel good. Now I have something in common with Walt Whitman, J.K. Rowling and Dr. Seuss. They all received rejection letters too. I understand that it’s part of the process and I’m not discouraged. It would have been nice to have received even a smidgen of feedback regarding the exert from the manuscript I had forwarded. Something that might help me going forward. This is the gist of what I received:
Thank you for your query.
Unfortunately, it is not a fit for my list at the current time. I do hope another agent feels differently.
You just know that every rejection letter this person sends out says the exact same thing. In the end, you only need one positive response. I’m not giving up.
